When O-Bike bikeshare system was released in Melbourne it changed the shape of the cities transport system. However I realised there was an opportunity that was being missed. If there was no helmet, users were less likely to use the system. In further desktop research I found that less women than men were using the service. Using these findings I conducted my final year project for Industrial Design Honours at Monash University. My approach was to create a helmet that was secure, easily servicable and iconic to engage a greater female focused audience. This discover piece also involved reconsidering opportunities missed in the current user experience of the O-Bike app.
